February 11th we had a lesson in Drawn Thread to create this lovely butterfly. First the butterfly is outlined with back stitch. Then the upper wings are worked with Faggot Stitch and the lower wings with Eyelet Stitch. This member is surrounding her butterfly with the Four Sided stitch.
Greetings and welcome!
We are the Torrey Pine Needlers, a chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America, Inc., located in Encinitas, California.
We do just about every kind of "surface stitching" that you can think of including bead work and felting.
Our members delight in creating gorgeous stitched pieces using cross stitch, embroidery and other surface stitching techniques.
